To Build an Excellent City with Talents Worldwide 2018 World Renowned Enterprise Youth Talent Development Forum Successfully Held (英文)

    On 10/14/2018, the World Renowned Enterprise Youth Talent Development Forum was successfully held in Shanghai Convention & Exhibition Center of International Sourcing.

    Yin Hong, deputy secretary of the CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee and Wu Qing, deputy mayor of Shanghai, attended such a spectacular event. According to Mr. Yin, vitality, potential and creativity lie where youth are as they are the most vigorous group filled with dreams.

    As an international city, Shanghai always puts talent work to a prominent place and already takes a lot of actions such as deeply implementation of the strategy of prioritizing talent development and much focus on youth talents gathering & career development so as to continously expand the “reservoir” of Shanghai talents.

    Yin Hong, at the very beginning of his speech, called for the whole society to pay attention to youth and care about youth and work together to create a world-class talent development environment in order to help youth open the door to success. In his words, party committees and governments at all levels are also required to strengthen the awareness of talent service and to show more respect to those enterprises who have leading positions in human resources allocation. Apart from that, more resources and platforms ought to be delivered and served to youth so that enterprises can attract and keep plenty of talents who will be of great support to enterprises development and will enhance the energy level and core competitiveness of Shanghai city. Yin Hong also expressed hopes to enterprises especially those world renowned ones that they are supposed to pay high attention to talent localization and to endeavor to cultivate more witty and high quality youth talents under deep collaborations with local education faculties. Finally, he also expected all youth to be consistently ambitious, be willing to innovate, be hardworking and start from scratch to create a better future.

 


    Around 20 global and GC CEOs from TOP 500 multinational companies gathered together to deliver keynote speeches and round tables respectively on three topics entitled ‘local talents strategy for multinational companies’, ‘how to empower people in the era of artificial intelligence’ and ‘talents upgrade and evolution’. As for 800 attendees, they are mostly HR managers and senior executives from many well-known companies varying from medical, trading, finance, retail, automotive to technology industry, etc.

 


 


    During the topic as ‘local talents strategy for multinational companies’, Leon Wang, Executive VP, International and China President of AstraZeneca and Rashid Aleem Qureshi, Chairman & Chief Executive officer of Nestlé in GC delivered speeches entitled ‘localized in China and visualized globally’ and ‘talents development & Localization in global environment’ respectively. They both shared in speeches a series of talent development strategies of their own companies and gave vivid explanations upon how valuable it is for enterprises to help youth grow and how to benefit from youth talents at the same time.

 


    Executives from CBRE, Pernod Ricard, Mizuho Bank, Shiseido, Accenture and so on, sat down together to have a profound discussion upon several questions like what the globalized talent strategy is, how to localize talents in China and what challenges have enterprises talents encountered.

 


    Based on ‘how to Empower people in the era of artificial intelligence’, Celina Chew, GC President of Bayer Group and Chairman of Bayer China gave a keynote speech entitled ‘youth talent development in a digital age’. She firmly believed that the digital age has demanded newer and higher requirements to talents compared with industrial times. Enterprises should be market-based, clarify the positioning of young talents and strengthen the cultivation of compound talents so as to realize seamless integration of talents and enterprise development.

 


    Afterwards, executives from Shneider Eletronic, Fujifilm, Rinnai Group, Microsoft, Faurecia and Avanade had an interesting and intriguing round table discussion, in which they analyzed how artificial technology influences enterprises and how to energize talents.

 


    During topic ‘talents upgrade and evolution’, Ben Duncan, CBRE North Asia President and GC CEO questioned how to define millennial generation in his speech called ‘create estate future by millennial generation’. He also pointed out that employees of such a new era are mainstream power to develop future enterprises and economy. He concluded that flexible working environment and comprehensive benefits will extend intangible influence on talents performances and then he shared some examples to show how CBRE is striving to enhance talents’ abilities and performances.

 


    Many Strategic cases upon talents development have been shared by executives from Itochu Textile, Ito Yukitaka, Wreth Nutrition, SHV and Citrix in a round table discussion. They also introduced the training strategies for core talents of their respective enterprises on how the talents evolution complements well with business.

 


    Then, there came to Mentor Award Ceremony. Wang Xu, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of China International Technology Intelligence Cooperation Co., Ltd., Wang Yu, Secretary of Shanghai Municipal Committee of the Communist Youth League, Honorary President of Shanghai Youth Federation and Gu Jun, Member of CPC Putuo District Committee and Deputy Director presented ‘Shanghai youth talent development mentor certificates’ to these panelists. In the future, to be considered as young talent mentors, together with their professional expertise and practical experience, these well-known corporate executives will boost Shanghai to become a world-class talent development place.

 


    Finally, Wang Xu gave a closing address, in which he emphasized that as a state-owned company under central government, CIIC Group is a primary human resources unit with quite rich experience in talents service and management. Driven by the mission of ‘Zhilingzhongguo’, CIIC Group integrates delivering and upgrading talents value closely and is about to reconstruct CIIC values and business modules so as to build up a globalized talents service eco-system with full elements and full industrial chains.

 


    In the closing speech, Wang Yu delivered sincere gratitude to all of the attendees including panelists, corporate representatives, government officers and hosts and gave a brief review upon the forum. He hoped that massive foreign-funded enterprises would have a strong faith in self-development in Shanghai city and taking advantage of such forum, the whole society’s forces should be united together to establish a more promising environment for foreign-funded enterprises youth talents to grow. What’s more, today’s forum was also an excellent opportunity for local companies to learn from world renowned enterprises.

 


    In the morning, there was another closing door meeting for foreign-funded enterprises. Officials from Development and Reform Commission, Municipal Economic and Information Commission, Municipal Science and Technology Commission, Municipal Industrial and Commercial Bureau, Municipal Food and Drug Administration, Municipal Organization Department, Municipal Commercial Committee, Municipal People's Insurance Bureau, Municipal Housing Construction Committee, Municipal Taxation Bureau, Communist Youth League Committee and Putuo government have expressed their own brilliant thoughts about how Shanghai attracts outstanding talents and how to optimize business environment together with representatives from foreign funded enterprises. Wu Qing, deputy mayor of Shanghai has attended this meeting.

 


    This forum was hosted by Shanghai Committee of Chinese Communist Youth League, Shanghai Putuo District People’s Government and China International Intellectech (Shanghai) Co., Ltd, organized by Shanghai Foreign Invested Enterprise Youth Talent Association and supported by Accenture as the think-tank.
